High School

• Bates signed with the Bucs from Phenix City, Ala. where she lined up at middle blocker for Smiths Station High School
• She also lined up in the middle for the VolleyOne and Cola-Vol club teams
• Over her high school career she averaged 10 kills, four blocks, four aces and one dig per game
• She was a two-time selection to the AHSAA 7A Area 4 All-Area Team, and was a two-time Alabama All-Star. In 2016, Bates earned Bi-City Offensive Player of the Year honors
• She was also a two-time letter-winner for the SSHS basketball team
• Off the court, she was an Honor Roll student
