Jennings Has Career Day in Loss at Robert Morris

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – Charleston Southern football fell on the road Saturday afternoon, losing 14-12 to Robert Morris. The Bucs held a 6-0 lead at halftime, but a late RMU surge was enough after CSU turned the ball over on downs with just over a minute to play.

JENNINGS HAS CAREER DAY
True freshman wideout Noah Jennings had a career day, catching eight passes for 204 yards and a score. Jennings' longest play went for 58 yards, but his one scoring play came from 38 yards out to bring the Bucs to within two late in the contest. Jennings' 204 yards is obviously a career-high, but it also stands as the most collective yards of any Buccaneer in a single game this season.

MISSED OPPORTUNITIES
Charleston Southern found themselves with most of the momentum throughout the first half, dominating possession and scoring chances. Kicker Sam Babbush was responsible for the two scores in the first half, but also missed two more opportunities early on. The Buccaneer defensive was called on multiple times throughout the contest, but just did not get enough from the offense to hold Robert Morris off.

NUMBERS, NUMBERS AND MORE NUMBERS
The Charleston Southern backfield saw three different backs, with JD Moore collecting the most yards, 50, on 11 carries. TJ Ruff added 44 yards on 14 carries and Autavius Ison finished with 26 yards on three totes. Isaiah Bess went 13-23 through the air for 227 yards and a score. Bess also added 46 yards on the ground to his total. Jennings was the star out wide, collecting 204 yards on eight catches.

On the defensive side of the ball, Malik Barnes was the top tackler with eight stops, including seven solo tackles. Bryce Llewellyn added seven stops of his own plus a TFL and Joshua Hill added five and a TFL. Barnes came up big on special teams as well, blocking a field goal under three minutes to play to give the Bucs a chance to stay in it.
