High School: Winterstein was a 5-year starter in high school at shortstop...He was a two-time All-State and All-Region selection...He was also named Cardinal Newman High School Athlete of the Year and Diamond Prospects All-Academic Team...He was a three-year starter at quarterback on the Cardinal Newman football team, where he was All-State and the Offensive MVP.
