CHARLESTON, S.C. - Charleston Southern senior outside hitter Amanda Hill has been named a Top Performer by the Collegiate Volleyball Update for the Oct. 11 through Oct. 17, as announced on CVU.com. This is Hill's second honor this week, having earned Big South Choice Hotels Player of the Week Monday.

Long Beach State senior Ashley Lee earned CVU.com National Player of the Week, the 100th player to be named national player of the week. Lee led the 49ers to a 2-0 week, and recorded a quadruple-double vs. UC-Riverside.

Hill is the first Big South player to be tabbed as a Top Performer by CVU.com this season. Kelsey Benorden was National Player of the Week Nov. 10, 2009, serving as the last BSC player to earn a weekly honor from CVU.com.

A 5-7 senior outside hitter from Moncks Corner, S.C., Hill led the Lady Bucs to a 3-0 week, including conference victories at Presbyterian and Gardner-Webb. She posted 57 kills during 10 sets on the week, and connected at a .346 rate.

She set a career high with seven blocks Friday at Presbyterian, aiding a Buccaneer defense which posted a season-best 15 total blocks. Hill also added 16 kills at PC, surpassing 1,700 for her career.

Saturday at Gardner-Webb, Hill posted 20 kills and 11 digs, her 14th double-double this season and 60th for her career. She collected her 1,400th career dig against the Runnin' Bulldogs.

Hill leads the Big South in kills per set at 4.87, ranking eighth in the nation in kills and points, as of the latest NCAA Division I national rankings. The active leader in the Big South, Hill is 6th all-time in Big South history with 1,735 kills.

In addition to the Player of the Week, CVU.com will be announcing selections for the Top Performers from the past week. These selections will include the Player of the Week and up to 10 others. Choices will consist of players who were finalists for the weekly honor and others who had exceptional individual matches.
