CHARLESTON S.C. : CSU returned to the Buc
Dome after a string of games on the road only to have High Point
ruin their homecoming; (25-21,21-12,25-22) in Charleston, S.C. Sep.
30.
CSU (3-15) displayed a well-balanced attack; Wynter Davis led
with seven kills, while Kayla Klinger and Sydney Tracy both had
five. Not far behind were Erin LaVenice and Amy Nokes who notched
four a piece. Kirsten Struksnes dished out 13 assists followed by
Nokes with 11 while Ashley Higginbothem totaled 10 digs. As a team,
the Lady Bucs had 28 kills, 26 assists, and 39 digs.
HIGH POINT (3-13) saw Chelsea Davis record 12 kills and eight
digs, while Lauren Bell dished out 33 assists. Molly Barlow had 12
of HPU's 41 digs, and Courtney Johnk led with four service aces.
The Panthers ended up with 38 kills on 94 total attacks, 35
assists, and 41 digs.
Kayla Klinger led CSU in kills in the first set with three
while Amy Nokes and Kirsten Struksnes both recorded four assists.
For the first set, CSU had 9 kills on 32 total attacks hitting for
.094.
The second set had Morgan Hadden and Wynter Davis both record
two kills. CSU had one team block and totaled six kills.
In the third set, CSU had 13 kills on 35 total attacks hitting
for .171. Wynter Davis led the team with four kills while Kirsten
Struksnes had seven assists and one dig.
CSU falls to 3-15 on the season and 0-3 in the Big South
Conference. The Lady Bucs will look to snap their current losing
streak Oct. 1 against Campbell, in Charleston S.C. at 7 p.m.
