BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Siraya Windsor and Kayla Klinger had 10 kills apiece and Kirsten Struksnes recorded her second consecutive double-double as Charleston Southern swept Campbell in their Big South road opener on Friday night, 25-23, 25-21, 26-24.

Windsor paced CSU's (7-11, 2-1 BSC) efforts in the victory over the Fighting Camels (7-12, 0-2 BSC) as the freshman outside hitter hit .310 for the match and added six digs as head coach Al Givens recorded his 399th victory of his collegiate coaching career with the victory.

"I thought we came out and were very focused on what we wanted to do, and we were able to execute," commented Givens on the team's first conference road trip of the season. "We didn't play particularly well in the first set and Campbell controlled the tempo, but our players remained poised and calm and focused on speeding the game up and playing at our pace. Meredith (Parrott) and Siraya (Windsor) both had great matches for us and everyone that came into the game contributed with positive numbers, really lifting the level of play on the court for us."

Campbell jumped to the early lead in the first set, using a 5-0 run to go up 8-4 behind a kill by Lindsey Coats. CSU rallied back with five of the next six points as Klinger followed a Wynter Davis kill with a pair of service aces as the Lady Bucs tied the match up at 9-all.

The teams battled through 17 ties and six lead changes throughout the combative set as neither team was able to separate themselves by more than one point in the frame. A Campbell service error gave CSU the late 24-23 lead and Sydney Tracy was able to close out the set in favor of CSU as the Big South's leading server fired in her lone service ace of the evening to put the Camels away in the 25-23 set victory.

CSU took control of the second set early, going up 3-0 behind back-to-back kills by Tracy, but Campbell rallied back to cut the lead to within one at 9-8 behind a Brooke Kelley kill. A solo block by Tracy sparked a 5-0 run on Windsor's serve and the freshman made the Fighting Camels pay with back-to-back service aces to give the Lady Bucs the 14-8 lead midway through the frame.

Kelley brought Campbell back in the match on her serve, leading a 4-0 run by the Camels with an ace, but the Lady Bucs opened up a five point lead at 22-17 on a Meredith Parrott kill on their way to closing out the 25-21 set win on a Campbell service error.

Following the break, Campbell came out of the gates on fire in the third set, recording eight of the first 11 points as Coats and Katelyn Layden recorded a block and Kelley added a pair of kills to give the Camels the 8-3 lead. CSU responded with an 8-3 run of their own as Katrina Houston placed in a service ace and Windsor fired back-to-back kills to knot the set up at 11 apiece.

The teams traded 3-0 runs to keep the score knotted up, but the Lady Bucs took the lead following four consecutive kills as Klinger, Houston and Michaela Luna put CSU up 20-18. Charleston Southern put the match at set point at 24-19 following a Davis kill, but the Camels lived up to their name, fighting back with a 5-0 run to knot the match up at 24 apiece following a kill by Sam Zuber. The rally fell short though as CSU clinched the sweep as Davis and Windsor placed back-to-back kills off the set by Struksnes as CSU topped Campbell 26-24 in the conference victory.

Parrott added nine kills, hitting .500 from the floor in the match and added a pair of blocks as CSU hit .225 from the floor as a team in the win.Struksnes contributed to the balanced CSU attack as nine players recorded kills in the match by following up a 53 assist-10 dig effort in the five-set victory over Winthrop with 36 assists and 10 more digs in the win.

Ashley Higginbothem led the Lady Bucs defensive efforts with 13 of the Charleston Southern's 50 digs in the match, while Klinger missed out on the double-double with nine digs. Tracy added three kills and two blocks in the win.

"It's nice to get a win on the road," said Givens on the victory. "Our defense persevered throughout the match and the players stepped up when we needed them to. The more success we have, the more they want to continue it and we'll start talking about what we need to game-plan and execute as we head to High Point tomorrow."

Charleston Southern continues their conference road trip as CSU travels to High Point, N.C. to take on High Point University on Saturday afternoon. First serve between the Lady Bucs and the Panthers is set for 4 p.m.
