Drummond officially named First Team All-American by USTFCCCA

NEW ORLEANS – Charleston Southern junior Braxton Drummond has been named a 2014 U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Association (USTFCCCA) First Team All-American, it was announced Monday.
Drummond earned the distinction thanks to a seventh place finish in the long jump at the NCAA Division I Indoor Track & Field Championships in Albuquerque, N.M. last Friday. The junior from Spartanburg, S.C. jumped 7.70 meters on his second jump to enter the top-eight and earn First Team All-American status. Drummond, who was seeded 15th, jumped only four inches off the Big South record he set at February's Alex Wilson Invitational.
The Big South Conference also recognized Drummond as the Choice Hotel Big South Men's Field Athlete of the Week on Thursday. Drummond also competed in the long jump at last year's Indoor NCAA Championships, placing 15th.
