Fresh off another sweep and another Big South weekly award, Charleston Southern volleyball hosts top-ranked High Point in a showdown of the top-two teams in the league for a Thursday-Friday series that should go a long way towards deciding the regular season championship.

The second-place VolleyBucs hold a 7-1 record (4-0 at home) fresh off a sweep of UNC Asheville in a makeup series from Buccaneer Field House. Dayana Chara was named the Big South Player of the Week for her 35-kill effort over the series including the match point of a five-set win where she recorded 20 kills.

Chara's 100 kills rank second in the Big South Conference as the junior outside hitter ranks among the top-10 in hitting percentage at .275, one of three Bucs in the top-10. Paige Reagor (.325) and Indigo Young (.324) each sit among the top-seven while Emma Minnick's 10.82 assists per set lead the Big South by three per set. Reagor also leads the conference with 1.29 blocks per set and points per set (4.20) having won Player of the Week honors twice.

Meanwhile, High Point rolls into the matchup still unbeaten in Big South play at 10-0 having only lost two sets all season. The preseason favorites have been dominant from the start behind the Big South's top defense and most-efficient attack. Led by the Preseason All-Big South libero Abby Bottomley, the Panthers are the only squad in the Big South to hold their opponents below .100 hitting percentage at .061 overall.

Thursday and Friday are the 47th and 48th meetings all-time between the Bucs and Panthers as High Point owns the all-time series lead. Charleston Southern led the series 11-6 after the 2005 season shortly after the Panthers joined the league, but High Point has stormed back for the head-to-head advantage since.

Both matches can be seen on ESPN+ with Thursday's set for a 6 p.m. start and Friday a 2 p.m. opening whistle from Buccaneer Field House.
