CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Wednesday afternoon, the Big South Conference announced its volleyball annual award winners, and three of Head Coach Carry Brown's Buccaneers received awards. 

Skylar Yates was named Second-Team All Conference. Yates finished the season with 310 kills (1st), 253 digs (3rd), 29 service aces (1st), and 26 blocks (4th).

Brenna Rowland was selected as one of five All-Conference Honorable Mentions. Rowland finished the season ranked first in team blocks with 101 in addition to finishing top three in kills with 183.

The Bucs' third all-conference selectee is team captain, Emily Struckmeyer. Struckmeyer was named to the Big South's All-Academic Team. Struckmeyer is a Pre-Law/Christian Studies double-major and currently maintains a 4.0 GPA. On the court, Struckmeyer finished near the top of the kill (4th) and block (2nd) lists. Struckmeyer, on top of her one million positive affirmations handed out to her teammates all season, would finish her junior-year campaign with 122 kills, 50 blocks, and 14 service aces (3rd).

Head Coach Carry Brown: "I'm thrilled for Skylar's Second Team All-Conference selection, Brenna's All-Conference Honorable Mention selection, and Emily making the All-Academic Team. These girls work so hard every day on the court and in the classroom, so I'm happy their hard work was rewarded. I am so proud of them!"
