CHARLESTON, S.C. – Charleston Southern Volleyball and Head Coach Carry Brown have officially welcomed Spartanburg Methodist transfer and Lowcountry-native, Braelynn Brewington to the Buccaneer family.

Brewington brings a strong presence at the net after an impressive two-year career at Spartanburg Methodist. In 2025, she earned Second-Team All-Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) honors while ranking fourth in the conference with a .308 attacking percentage. She appeared in 30 matches and 104 sets, finishing with 191 kills, 72 total blocks, and the second-highest attacking percentage on her team.

During the 2024 season, Brewington competed in 31 matches (83 sets), totaling 80 kills and 42 blocks. She also excelled in the classroom, earning Athletic Director's Honor Roll recognition for the Fall 2024 semester.

A native of Georgetown, South Carolina—approximately 60 miles from Charleston Southern—Brewington starred at Georgetown High School. She was a member of the All-Region 5-AAA Team, a two-time Georgetown High School Best Offensive Player Award recipient, and made school history as the first student-athlete to sign to play collegiate volleyball. She also competed with the Grand Strand Juniors Club Team.

Brewington continues a family tradition at Charleston Southern. Her older sister, Brooklynn, was a three-year member of the Buccaneer softball program and earned 2021 Big South Conference First-Team honors.

When asked about her new roster addition, Head Coach Carry Brown said,

"Braelynn is a great athlete, and I'm excited to add her to our program. She brings a lot of positives to our campus both on and off the court, and I'm excited to get her on campus to help continue her development both as a student and volleyball player."
