Softball Announces Schedule for 2025 Season

CHARLESTON, S.C. – Head Coach Christi Musser and the Charleston Southern softball team released their schedule for the 2025 season on their social media on Wednesday.
 
The 2025 schedule consists of three tournaments at CSU Soccer Field as well as one tournament on the campus of Liberty University. It consists of a total of 50 games with 32 being at home and 18 either on the road or at a neutral site.
 
Charleston Southern begins the season on Feb. 7, when the Buccaneers host the CSU Kickoff Tournament. Bellarmine, Siena and Georgetown have all agreed to join the tournament. The Bucs will open the season at 3:00 PM on Friday, Feb. 7 against Bellarmine followed by a battle with Siena at 5:30 PM. On Saturday, Feb. 8, they will host Georgetown at 3:00 PM followed by a rematch with Siena at 5:30 PM. Then, they will wrap up opening weekend on Sunday, Feb. 9 with a rematch against Bellarmine at 12:30 PM.
 
The Buccaneers will host their second tournament of the season the following weekend, as UNC Wilmington, Central Connecticut State and Marshall will participate in the CSU Blue/Gold Classic Feb. 14-16. The Buccaneers will play at 3 PM on Friday, Feb. 14 against UNC Wilmington and will wrap up day one against Central Connecticut State at 5:30 PM. The Bucs will take on those same teams the following day, as they will have a rematch with UNC Wilmington at 2:30 PM as well as a rematch with Central Connecticut State at 5:00 PM. Finally, the Buccaneers will host Marshall on Sunday, Feb. 16 at 12:30 PM for their only match up with the Thundering Herd.
 
The Buccaneers will hit the road for the first time on Friday, Feb. 21 through Sunday, Feb. 23, as they will participate in the Liberty Softball Classic. This will be their first trip to Lynchburg to face their former Big South foe since 2022. They will begin the day at 10:00 AM on Friday against Hofstra for their first ever meeting with the Pride. After that, they play against Liberty at 2 PM. On Saturday, Feb. 22, they will play their final game against Hofstra at 10:00 AM and then end the tournament with two games against Saint Joseph's on Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning.
 
Charleston Southern will face two Power Four opponents, as they will head across the state to take on Clemson on Wednesday, Mar. 5 as well as a battle with South Carolina on Wednesday, Apr. 9 at 6:00 PM.
 
The Buccaneers will host their final tournament of the regular season Mar. 14-16 in a three-team tournament with UNC Greensboro and Fairfield. The following week, the Bucs open conference play at home against Presbyterian on Mar. 21 and 22. Charleston Southern will play one on Mar. 21 at 5:00 PM followed by a doubleheader on Saturday, Mar. 22 beginning at 1:00 PM.
 
The Bucs head to Rock Hil, S.C. to take on Winthrop for their first conference road series, as they wrap up the month of March with a three-game series against the Eagles.
 
After a trip to South Carolina in the midweek, the Buccaneers head to the Upstate the weekend of Apr. 11 to take on the defending Big South Champions in USC Upstate with a single game on Friday followed by a doubleheader on Saturday, Apr. 12.
 
The Buccaneers will return home for a quick game on Wednesday, Apr. 15, as they look to extend their winning streak with their crosstown rivals in College of Charleston in the midweek.
 
The final home series of the season will be Saturday, Apr. 26 and 27, as the Buccaneers will wrap up the 2025 regular season with Gardner-Webb.
 
Clinton, S.C. will be the host of the 2025 Big South Tournament on the campus of Presbyterian College.
 
The Buccaneers look to build off their success from last season, finishing in the top four of the conference and making it to the conference semi-finals.  Musser returns 15 players from last season while welcoming seven players into the program.
