High School: Originally from Taylors, South Carolina where he attended Eastside High School ... Played under Head Coach Andre Woolcock and position coach Justin Hoffman ... During his senior year he had 63 tackles including eight tackles for a loss and an interception while during his sophomore year he 40 tackles and one interception ... During his junior year, he served as the starting quarterback, only playing that position and had nearly 1000 yards on the year through the air and nearly 500 on the ground ... In a game against Blue Ridge he finished with over 250 yards of total offense including three touchdowns and 10 tackles ... Earned All-State Honorable Mention during his career and multiple All-Region awards ... Helped to lead Eastside HS to their first playoff appearance in six years ... Was a three-sport athlete as he also was on the baseball and wrestling teams ... In wrestling, he was three-time All-State, three-time All-Region and a two-time State Champion ... In baseball, he earned All-State and All-Region recognition as well as a spot on the All-Star game roster ... Named Region Athlete of the Year at the end of the school year ... Brother Lane is a member of the baseball team at Spartanburg Methodist while his other brother, Colt, is a member of the wrestling team at Army.
