CHARLESTON, S.C. – With Charleston Southern softball's signing class being fully unveiled, CSUSports.com is taking an in-depth look at each of the seven signees of head coach Christi Musser's first signing class.
 
The Bucs will provide a further look at one signee each day, based on the order they were announced on CSU's social media channels. Next up is Summer Bullard.


 
Summer Bullard is making the short trip from Pembroke, North Carolina, to Charleston Southern. 
 
As a member of the Purnell Swett High School team, Bullard amassed many accomplishments throughout her career. In 2021, she was selected to both the NCSCA District 4 All District and All State teams, while capping off a tremendous year as the Robeson County Pitcher of the Year. Some of her most notable stats include a 1.93 ERA in 134 innings pitched, striking out 186 batters with a .165 batting average against her. 
 
Not only is Bullard a force on the mound, but she will also help the Bucs at the plate. At Purnell Swett, she tallied a .356 batting average with 37 hits and 26 RBI. 
 
In the classroom, the awards continue as a NC Scholar, Beta Club and National Honor Society member, and top 15% of her class.
 
Bullard is also a member of the Lady Lightning Gold organization, where she was also teammates with current CSU freshmen Gracie Prince, Weslin Jones and Lexi Markle.


 
Head Coach Christi Musser's thoughts on Summer:
"I could not be more excited that Summer will be representing the Bucs. She is an accomplished pitcher who knows how to win but can also contribute defensively and at the plate. She brings so much more to the field than just her tremendous athletic abilities, as she works extremely hard and sets high expectations for herself. I haven't seen an athlete that is more driven than Summer and I know that she is going to be a big piece to our program's success throughout her career."
