High School and Club: Western came to Charleston Southern by way of Town & County St. Louis, Mo., and St. Joseph''s Academy where she lined up under coach Karen Davis. She was also a member of the St. Louis CYC club team under Coach Matt Kalisiak. Western was on the AVCA National Freshman, Sophomore and Junior Phenom watch list and was a two-time All-District and All-Conference selection. The 2014 season saw Western excel on the court as she averaged 2.68 kills per set, hitting .390 from the floor on the year. She also paced the team with 115 blocks, averaging 1.51 per set. Her statistics helped her be recognized as a 2014 All-Region selection and a 2014 All-State Honorable Mention selection. She was also named to the USVA First Team National Division National Team and she was a member of the 2014 Nike Tournament Championship First Team.
Off the court, Western was a two-time letter-winner on the St. Joseph''s varsity basketball team and was a member of the 2013 State Runner-up squad. She was also a four-time Academic All-State selection and is a member of the National Honor Society. Western is the daughter of Mary Ann and Ralph Western.
