CHARLESTON – Charleston Southern Softball announced their schedule for the 2026 spring on Monday morning ahead of the Christmas holiday with a 51 game schedule that features 28 home games. Additionally, the home broadcast schedule was released as well with 24 contests at the CSU Softball Complex to be available live on ESPN+.
The Buccaneers begin the season with a pair of home tournaments that are being co-hosted by them and the College of Charleston. The spring kicks off with the CSU / CofC Kick Off Tournament with the Bucs' first contest of the year to be played on Friday, February 6 at 2:30 p.m. against Siena and will be immediately followed by the 5 p.m. nightcap for the day facing St. John's. Other teams in action that weekend are George Mason and Marist.
The following weekend, for the Cici's Pizza Lowcountry Classic, five teams are making the trip down to Charleston. On Friday, the Bucs will take on Scared Heart and UConn followed by UMass and Penn on Saturday with Akron to close out the weekend on Sunday.
For the final two weekend tournaments the Bucs will hit the road. For the first one they head down to UCF for the SpaceU Classic which features Notre Dame, Penn State, Ohio and Central Florida. For the final one, they travel to North Carolina for the Elon / UNCG Softball Tournament which includes those two hosts as well as Indiana.
Rounding out the nonconference slate for the Bucs, they host Bowling Green ahead of the conference opening weekend with games on March 6 and 7. Midweek contests for this spring include home games against Georgia State (2/25), Georgia Southern (3/10), Appalachian State (3/11), South Carolina State (4/8). The remainder of the nonconference road slate features Coastal Carolina (3/24), Furman (4/14) and College of Charleston (4/22)
The Big South schedule begins with them traveling to Boiling Springs, N.C. to face Gardner-Webb on March 13 and 14. The other road conference series include Radford (4/3-4/4) and Presbyterian (4/17-4/18). This year, the Bucs will host Longwood (3/20-3/21), Winthrop (3/27-28) and USC Upstate (4/24-4/25) in conference action. The series against the Spartans marks the final one of the regular season. The Big South Championships will feature the top five finishers in the league standings again this year with the tournament to be held in Spartanburg, S.C. from Wednesday, May 6 through Saturday, May 9.
