2013 Outdoor: Won the hammer throw and established a career best in the event with a 56.46 meter throw at the Palmetto Classic (3/8)…Also captured the discus throw title at the Palmetto Classic and the Robert “Jet” Johnson Bulldog Relays (3/22-23)…Established a personal best in the shot put at the Big South Outdoor Track & Field Championships (4/18-20) to finish 5th…Recorded another career high at the Georgia Tech Invitational (5/10-11), finishing 2nd in the discus throw with a distance of 48.11 meters…Competed in the hammer throw at the NCAA Division I East Preliminary Round (5/23-25), finishing 34th.
2013 Indoor: Set the CSU record in the weight throw with a distance of 17.90m on 1/19.
2012 Outdoor: Set the CSU mark for discus with a throw of 46.93m, breaking her own record set earlier in the year, at the Georgia Tech Invitational (5/12). Third in discus at the Big South Conference meet, throwing 45.62m. At the Best Western/University of North Florida Invitational, placed third in discus with a throw of 46.18m, then a school record ... hammer throw of 45.43 good for 16th. 43.01m hammer throw at the the Weems Baskin Invitational (Columbia, S.C.), placing 27th. Won the hammer throw with a personal best 46.57m at the Palmetto Classic, and claimed second in discus (41.25m) and fifth in shot put (12.48m).
2012 Indoor: At the Big South Championships, threw for ninth in the shot put (12.25m) and 21st in weight throw (13.60m). Fourteenth in shot put (11.87m) at the Virginia Tech Invitational, and 21st in weight throw (14.21m).
2011 Outdoor Season: Placed third in the discus at the Palmetto Classic (March 11) with a throw of 36.83 meters and took fifth in the shot put with a throw of 11.75 meters… Also competed in the javelin at the meet, coming in 18th with a throw of 20.40 meters… Recorded a throw of 33.10 meters in the discus at the Coastal Carolina Invite (March 12), good for 16th place and took fifth in the shot put with a throw of 12.46 meters (40-10.50)… Placed 16th in the hammer throw (41.97 meters) and 17th in the discus (34.06 meters)at Weems Baskin (March 26)… Was the runner-up in the shot put at the Big South Championships (April 21) with a throw of 13.05 meters (42-9.75) and also in the discus with a throw of 41.04 meters (140-00)… Took 11th in the hammer throw at the meet with a toss of 40.94 meters (134-04)… Competed in the Bob Pollock Invitational (May 7), taking eighth in the shot put with a 12.22 meters (40-1.25).
2010-11 Indoor Season: Placed 16th in the weight throw in her collegiate debut at the Hokie Invite (Jan. 21) with a throw of 13.96 meters (45-9.75)… Set the freshman record in the shot put with a throw of 12.22 meters (40-1.25) for 14th place… Took fourth place at the Gamecock Open (Jan. 26) in the shot put with a throw of 12.08 meters… Also competed in the weight throw, coming in third place with a toss of 14.47 meters… Finished 23rd in the shot put (11.27m (36-11.75)) and 17th in the weight throw (14.11m (46-3.5)) at the Niswonger Invitational (Feb. 4)… Was the runner-up at the Big South Championship in the shot put with a throw of 12.72 meters (41-8.75)… Took 13th in the weight throw at the meet with a throw of 13.52 meters (44-4.25).
High School: Graduated with honors after competing on the track and basketball teams at Camden High School … earned the MVP, Most Improved and Hustle awards on the basketball court, and was awarded the 2008-09 Sportsmanship Award … finished third in the state in the discus in 2008-09, becoming the state champion in 2009-10 earning Female Athlete of the Year honors for her high school and in the state.
Personal: Daughter of Dellia Whitaker … majoring in elementary education at CSU.
